Abstract
The main thesis of this article is to present the phenomenon of globalization about cultural change (and economic) that gives effect to the "religion" and religious practice. Secularization as part of globalization and modernization, affecting cultural relations and "religion" in the region. Forms of religious practices which was appointed as the impact of globalization is privatization, fundamentalisasi, and the commodification of religion. Kwok Pui-Lan as an Asian postcolonial feminist theologians criticize globalization as a form of colonization with a new face that oppresses women and children. In the context of Asia with a diversity of religious and extreme poverty, how theology can provide a role in public life. Religion can not be separated from other social relations (especially cultural) as stated classic secularization theory. Thus the award to religious pluralism and inter-faith spirituality to be very important to build religiosity that appreciate coexsistence.
Abstrak
Tesis utama dari artikel ini adalah globalisasi yang menghadirkan fenomena perubahan kultural (dan ekonomi) yang memberi dampak bagi “agama” dan keberagamaan. Sekularisasi sebagai bagian dari globalisasi dan modernisasi, memengaruhi hubungan budaya dan “agama” di wilayah Asia. Bentuk keberagamaan yang diangkat sebagai dampak globalisasi adalah privatisasi, fundamentalisasi, dan komodifikasi agama. Kwok Pui-Lan sebagai seorang teolog feminis poskolonial Asia mengkritik globalisasi sebagai bentuk kolonialisasi dengan wajah baru yang menindas perempuan dan anak-anak. Dalam konteks Asia dengan kepelbagaian agama dan kemiskinan yang parah, bagaimana teologi bisa memberikan peran dalam kehidupan publik. Agama tidak bisa dipisahkan dari relasi sosial lainnya (khususnya budaya) seperti yang dinyatakan teori sekularisasi klasik. Dengan demikian penghargaan kepada pluralisme agama-agama dan spiritualitas antar iman menjadi sangat penting untuk membangun religiositas yang menghargai kehidupan bersama.
