Buku yang ditulis Armada Riyanto ini menggunakan filsafat fenomenologis dalam memaknai dan memahami relasi antara 'Aku, teks, liyan, fenomen'. Cara kerja dan hasilnya, bisa dilihat dalam framework hermeneutika teks, tetapi juga studi intersubjektifitas lainnya seperti riset fenomenologis, sosiologi interpretatif, studi indentitas, penelitian sumber daya manusia, teori pendidikan, dan sosio-politis-kultural-religius kearifan lokal. Buku yang terdiri dari 10 babini memiliki banyak manfaat dan menjawab kebutuhan akademis sekaligus tantangan kemanusiaan jaman sekarang.
