Abstract
Old Testament readers tend to deselect or discredit texts that contain violent connotation. This creates a bad impression of the Old Testament. This article attempts to overcome the polemics about such texts within the Old Testament by offering a new theology of grace. The construction of grace is grounded on texts concerning love, justice, peace, and other words of positive values. As a conclusion, this article suggests violent-connotated texts as an unsettling grace.
