JIKA AKU LEMAH, MAKA AKU KUAT: SPIRITUALITAS EKA DARMAPUTERA BERGUMUL DENGAN SAKIT-PENYAKIT

Abstract

Everybody can be sick. The sick peopleabsolutely want to be healed. So, the most important thingwhen we talk about sickness is our response and attitude of it. For religious people, the attitude is influenced by his or her spirituality. What kind of spirituality that is fit to form an attitude toward sickness? My hypothesis here is influenced by Eka's book, “Jika Aku Lemah, Maka Aku Kuat”. His spirituality was influenced by his Calvinist background. Beside that, if we look at Eka’s spirituality from the perspective of mystic spirituality, especially which is defined by Meister Eckhart and Dorothee Soelle, there are some similarities with that kind of spirituality.My observation here is based from several of Eka’s writings,including his open letter to the participants of one programnamed “Night prayer with Eka Darmaputera”.
