MENELAAH KEBERPIHAKAN YESUS TERHADAP PEREMPUAN KORBAN KEPENTINGAN PENGUASA Studi Terhadap Injil Yohanes 7:53-8:11

Abstract

This article is an interpretation of the Gospel of John 7:53-8:11. Thepassage tells about Jesus preference for a woman caught in adultery. Therulers, the scribes and Pharisees, exploit and sacrifi ce her for their politicalinterest. They intend to defeat Jesus who is their political opponents.There are parallels between the woman experiences in the passage andthe women who are the victims of sex traffi cking. Both are forced to bevictims of the interest of the rulers. Jesus does not agree with the rulers’attitude. He showed his preference for the woman, let her free and put herback as an autonomous subject. It supposed to inspire the church to showtheir preference for the victims of sex traffi cking as one of the contextualtheology manifestation.
