PERJUANGAN HAK ASASI MANUSIA PEREMPUAN DI DALAM DAN DI LUAR GEREJA

Abstract

Discrimination against women is not merely outside the church, as many devote Christian would not believe that discrimination and violence against women may occurred in the community who believe in Christ, who keep teaching to love one another. Within the church women are discriminated or subordinated, especially in the leadership role. Discrimination against women in the church is justified by male dominated church leaders through biblical quotation. Therefore this article expose that in the Bible there are stories of violence against women as well as inspiration of woman dignity and struggle for equality, assertive women and powerful women who stand for the right of human beings. Fore mothers in the church history may inspire the church to acknowledge equality or equal rights of women and men in the church.
